SSLstrip : Can hack a secured website

When you enter any https or ssl encrypted sites , you will see one padlock image on your browser window down the right . This tells Site you are going to enter is more secured. But now hackers are going to break this padlock using new tool called sslstrip which was introduced on wednesday to hackers community at Black Hat security conference by Moxie Marlinspike ,author of SSLSTRIP.

This tool acts as "man in the middle" and attacks secured sites inlcuding banking sites, web email or e-commerce site. This tool allow hackers to remove encryption or ssl protected layers .
You can download this sslstrip from his Web site.

on his website he is saying "This tool provides a demonstration of the HTTPS stripping attacks that I presented at Black Hat DC 2009. It will transparently hijack HTTP traffic on a network, watch for HTTPS links and redirects, then map those links into either look-alike HTTP links or homograph-similar HTTPS links. It also supports modes for supplying a favicon which looks like a lock icon, selective logging, and session denial. For more information on the attack, see the video from the presentation below. "
